Woodcroft Advice Centre is founded on the words of Proverbs:
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
The Advice Centre team is made up of trained volunteers who can offer practical help and advice in various areas, including:
- Benefits (including help with completing forms for invalidity benefit, tax credits, income support etc…)
- Housing issues
- Council tax rebates
- Understanding and handling debts
- Consumer rights
- Supporting refugees
- Immigration issues
Volunteers can offer assistance in a number of ways such as letter writing/form filling, dealing with legal issues in association with a solicitor and petitioning the local MP as well as referring cases on to other appropriate agencies.
The advice centre provides a free service to all members for the community. There is a drop-in session on Wednesdays between 9:30am and 12:00pm, or you can make an appointment for Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. For more information, give us a call on (020) 8201 0592.
Woodcroft Advice Centre is a member of Advice UK and part of International Gospel Church.
