Anna Guazelli – working with Christian Literature Crusade in Florence, Italy

The Christian Literature Crusade started their book ministry in Italy when a Scottish lady opened a shop in an excellent location near Michelangelo’s famous statue of David in Florence. Today the same shop attracts tourists from all over the world, and keeps a stock of Bibles (the best seller) in over 30 languages. Anna is the manager and has been there for most of her 21 years as a CLC worker in Italy.

Among the tourists, two Christian ladies from Japan, (the mother is teaching Italian to Japanese children), recently came into the shop and bought a number of books to use in their teaching of children back home.

Prayer Points
  • Most of the believers come from the south of the country; pray that the Gospel will bear more fruit in the sophisticated north where there are only 3 bookshops – Florence, Turin and Milan.
  • Most of the Christian literature and music in Italian is translated from other languages, especially from English. Ask the Lord to raise up more Italian authors and songwriters.
  • Pray the Lord of the harvest to send new workers to join the small bookshop teams in Rome, Turin and Florence.
  • The CLC is interdenominational and a contact point for fellowship amongst the Lord’s people of various backgrounds. Pray for ongoing contact with Chinese, African, Romanian, Korean, and Filipino churches in Florence.
  • There are now 9 bookshops in Italy and Sicily. They will all be represented at the annual field conference in June. Give vision, Lord, and anointing and grace to keep overcoming.
  • The CLC Italy website is becoming an effective means of getting good books and music into the hands and minds of Italians all over the country and abroad.
  • Systems for stocktaking, ordering and accounting have gradually been modernised. Expertise in computerisation is needed for further development of the work.
