Now is the time when we approach the end of our financial year (31st March) and see how the finances are looking! We look to have a special gift day whe we seek funds over and above our normal giving to meet any shortfall. As you will recall, we had some necessary but unbudgeted for expenditure in 2012, in partiuclar £15,000 we had to spend to replace the boiler! We have made some of this up with reserves andother funds but we think we will need in the region of £6,500 to make the books balance this year.

Consequently we will be holding a gift day on Sunday 17th March 2013 to address that shortfall, so we would ask that you prayerfully consider what you might be able to set aside for this. And it isn;t just about money – we very much value and appreciate all our volunteers in so many areas of church life. but there is always more to be done! So on 17th March was will also be asking for your time please! More details nearer the day!

The Principal Of Giving

Whilst we need your financial support when it comes to giving, as with all things in fact, remember if you’re not free to say “No”, then you’re not free to say “Yes”… Remember what Paul taught us in 2 Corinthians 9

Only give as the Lord leads: “whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has made up in his mind; Giving should never be done either reluctantly or under compulsion; God loves a cheerful (hilarious) giver; Give no more than what you can give hilariously; When you give hilariously, God is able to make all grace abound to you; Hilarious givers never lack the means to continue giving hilariously; What you have was given to you freely; it is God who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food; The reason He multiples your seed is to enable you to sow (and not store) and increase your harvest of righteousness. When you give in this manner, you will be enriched in every way.

We are simply overwhelmed by your generosity – such was your response that we have managed to bridge the shotfall in the church’s budget for 2012/2013 caused by the £15,000 or unbudgeted expenditure that it cost to replace the boiler. Including the pledges and adding the gift aid tax relief we raised in the order of £15,700! Thank you so much, we greatly appreciate you partnering with us in this vital ministry of giving and receiving.
